How to Start a Site Walk

Learn how to successfully exit Operate from the browser or mobile application

 

Scope / Applicability

Applies to:

  • All registered users of the Operate solution (contact your Administrator to be registered)
  • Supported browsers: Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox (latest two versions)
  • Supported mobile devices: iOS or Android phones and tablets (via the respective app stores)

Prerequisites:

  • An active user account (contact your Administrator to be registered)
  • Successful login to the Operate application
  • Internet connectivity

Symptoms / Problem Statement

Users must log out of the Operate application to securely end their session, especially on shared or mobile devices. Some users may be unsure how to return to the top level of the application to access the Log Out option.

Resolution / Procedure

  • Navigate to the top level of the application
    From any screen within the Operate mobile application, tap the left arrow in the upper-left corner.
    Continue tapping the left arrow until no further left arrows are displayed and a hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) appears in the upper-left instead.
  • Open the main menu
    Tap the hamburger menu icon in the upper-left corner of the screen to open the main navigation menu.
  • Log out of the application
    In the menu that appears, scroll to the bottom of the list.
    Tap the “Log Out” button at the bottom of the menu.
    Confirm any prompts, if displayed, to complete logging out.

Verification / Validation

  • After logging out, you are redirected to the login screen.
  • You no longer have access to application data or functionality until you log in again.
  • If you still appear to be logged in, fully close and reopen the application, then repeat the log out procedure.
